Yeah, maybe you're right, but what could the logical, non-emotionally-charged reason be? Catch the fact that you said it doesn't "feel" like my hypothesis, twice, in as many sentences.
Thought experiment: when you're on a dating app, cover the profile pic of the girls just to see what their personality is like. When you read their bio: "I love SoulCycle and red wine, sunsets, and rockin' playlists!", and you think, "If this was a guy, I'd run him over with my car." Then you uncover the photo, see it's a beautiful woman, and your like, "I think she may be the one!", then you have your answer for the above conundrum.
Give it a try. Recontextualize the situation by replacing her with a random dude (or God forbid, an ugly woman) in your mind's eye, then give it a good hard think. I welcome any rational alternatives.
